Sam Concepcion stars in his first indie film "Pinoy Scout"

Teen star Sam Concepcion topbills an indie film about the boys scout
in the Philippines.

Entitled "Pinoy Scout", the movie is directed by Neal 'Buboy' Tan and marks Sam's entry to indie cinema.

Also in the film are Ms. Boots Anson-Roa, Abby Cruz, Marco Mañalac (also his first), JP Mesde, Gino Ilustre, Poly Sanchez and "real"
scouts Eugene Lester Lin, Oliver John Christian Liu, Hanns Christian Chua, Ashcan Gyllen Gallos, Neil Caronan, Niko Sanchez Lok, Clyde Augene Ang and Julius Czar Advincula.

The harmless-looking Marco Mañalac meanwhile was the only Cosmo Centerfold who stripped down to his undies. Good job!

Marco Manalac all-naked for Cosmo Centerfolds 2010

21-year-old theater actor Marco Manalac is naked again not on stage, but this time it's for Cosmo Mag's Centerfolds for 2010.

He looks like Jomari Yllana in there! It's hard not to love his eyes and pretty boy looks.

Marco tells Cosmo that it's his super-expressive eyes and wet lips that make him hot. I agree!

In June, Marco was among the MYX VJ Search 2010 finalists and then was "fully naked on stage" many times in July for the Philippine version of "Equus".

And aside from the Cosmo centerfold, Marco is also bare in a feature on "Sense & Style" Magazine for September 2010 with Gretchen Barretto on the cover.

Marco Mañalac frontal scene in "Equus"

There's a new Marco who just like indie actor Marco Morales, is fearless to do frontal scenes, not in indie films though, but on stage. And that's actually more daring!

21-year-old Gabriel Marco Manalac will play as Alan Stung Strung in "Equus" to be staged by Repertory Philippines.

During the pictorial, Marco already posed with no clothes and pants on. And on the play which starts 2nd week of July, Marco will also be required to go fully unwrapped, showing all what he got.

Just like Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe who portrayed the same role of Alan Strung in a version of Equus in London. Radcliffe also bared all there.

According to a feature by Ricky Lo, Marco is a Cum Laude graduate from Ateneo de Manila University and that's even more admirable. For sure, he has thought of auditioning for the role many times and was able to anticipate that it's going to be a big break for him.

"Equus" will be staged at OnStage Greenbelt 1 in Makati City, 8:00 P.M, on these dates: July 10, 16, 17, 23 & 24. For tickets, please call (02)887-0710.

MYX VJ Search 2010 Finalists

Robin Nievera, the eldest son of Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez, is among the 12 finalists for the MYX VJ Search 2010.

Robin has bigtime parents, a music royalty, but on MYX VJ Search, having celebrity parents is actually not an edge over other finalists.
Remember last year, Andi Eigenmann, now a primetime star via "Agua
Bendita", also joined the search but she lost.

Aside from Robin, another familiar name to me is Andrew "Andy" Smith, who won Mossimo Bikini Summit '07.

Andy also had a brief appearance on ABS-CBN fantaserye "Dyosa" and a familiar face on TV commercials like Colgate, Skin White and Lewis &

Up & coming theater actor Marco Mañalac is also this year's finalists. He will have a big launch as Alan Strung in the Philippine version of the sensational play "Equus. Will his daring role on stage help him stand out on MYX VJ Search? We shall see.
