Pinay Supermodels on MEGA June 2011 cover

Three (3) Pinay Supermodels are featured on the cover of MEGA Magazine this June 2011.

On MEGA cover this June 2011 are Danica Magpantay, Charlene Almarvez and Charo Ronquillo, Pinay supermodels who represented the Philippines in the Ford Models' Supermodel of the World competition.

And all three of them finished winners.

Charo was 2nd Runner Up in the 2006 competition, Charlene was 1st Runner Up in 2010 and just this year, Danica won the title, the first Pinay to win the Ford Supermodels of the World title.

MEGA Magazine boasts that it's the first time ever that these three Pinay supermodels were photographed together for a magazine cover.

Angelica Panganiban leads Hottest Babes Poll for January 2011

Angelica Panganiban is on top of 19 other babes on January 2011's Hottest Babes Poll conducted here on Mykiru from February 9 to 14.

Angelica got 12.21% of the total votes, followed by KC Concepcion with 10.39% and Solenn Heussaff with 10.13%.

Danica Flores Magpantay's photos from Supermodel of the World 2011 contest are out!

Danica Flores Magpantay representing the Philippines bagged the grand prize at the Ford Models Supermodel of the World 2011 contest held last Saturday.

And it was only yesterday when Danica's official photos from the
contest have been released at Ford Models' official blog.

I just noticed that on this year's competition, photos are very limited, not like last year when there were a bunch of photos during
the contest. (Philippines' Charlene Almarvez finished 1st Runner Up then)

But it's okay! These pictures of her are already enough to adore Danica so much and make us feel so proud.

With Danica's victory plus Venus Raj's 4th Runner Up finish in Miss Universe 2010 and even Barbie Salvador as 2nd 3rd RU in Miss Tourism International 2010/2011, expect more brown-skinned Filipinas being crowned on our local pageants this year and eventually will succeed internationally just like those three ladies.

Danica Flores Magpantay from the Philippines wins Ford Supermodel of the World 2011

Danica Flores Magpantay, daughter of renowned make-up artist Lala Artist, represented the Philippines in the Ford Models - Supermodel of the World 2011 competition.

And Danica won, becoming the first ever Filipina to win the contest.

It was held on Saturday, January 22, 2011, in New York City, participated in by around 70 supermodels from different countries.

Filipinas are indeed standout beauties. Agree?

Danica is only 17 years old whose mom Lala Flores was also a Philippine representative during the Supermodel of the World contest held in 1990.

Danica is only the 2nd Asian to win as Ford Models' Supermodel of the World. The first Asian winner was Korea's Kang Seung-Hyun in 2008.

The contest has been staged for 29 years already and Canada has the most number of wins (3) followed by Norway, Spain, Australia, Germany and Brazil with 2 each.

Prior to Danica's victory, Philippines' highest placements in Ford Supermodel in the World competition were in 1986 when Melanie Marquez was 1st Runner Up, in 2006 with Charo Ronquillo as 2nd Runner Up and just last year, a 1st Runner Up finish by Chat Almarvez.

Danica Magpantay is Ford Models Supermodel of the World Philippines 2010 winner

Danica Flores Magpantay, a Fine Arts student from UP, has just won as Ford Models Supermodel of the World Philippines 2010.

Danica won the title last night at the SM Mall of Asia's Main Atrium. She bested 12 other supermodel-type contestants including Sha Whitaker, who won as 1st Runner Up and Kim Fernandez as the 2nd Runner Up.

She earns the right to represent the Philippines in the 2011 Ford Models Supermodel of the World competition.

During the 2010 contest held in Brazil, Philippines almost won the title when Chat Almarvez finished as 1st Runner Up.

The new Supermodel of the World Philippines winner happens to be the daughter of Supermodel of the World 1990 and now a professional make-up artist Milagros "Lala" Flores. Lala represented the Philippines internationally and won the Crest Best Smile award.
