If only Daniel Matsunaga has Filipino blood, he could try out for the Philippine Team Azkals and be one of the "most good-looking football players" in the world.
Daniel Matsunaga, who is Brazilian-Japanese, reveals to Manila Bulletin that he loves football and he's been playing it since he was a kid.
As you can see in the picture, Daniel has his own football team called "Pars FC" who have played for various "futsal" events here in the country. (Futsal is an indoor football.)
And just last January 16, Daniel's team emerged as Champion in the 2nd Philippine Futsal League held at the Emilio Aguinaldo College Gym.
Also in March 2010, his team was 1st Runner Up in the UP SOMA Cup Futsal Tournament 2010 held in Palawan where Daniel also won as Best Striker. Go Daniel!
“I’ve played football since I was a kid. I have a lot of trophies back home. I just joined the Futsal league here, one of the biggest leagues organized by FIFA, and we recently won first place,” Daniel tells Manila Bulletin.
Daniel also tells Manila Bulletin that he dreams of teaching football to Filipino kids. "Football here in the Philippines is getting bigger and bigger. One day, I would like to teach kids how to play, to grow this sport here in the Philippines."
That's what the Younghusbands also do. They also teach kids how to play football. So maybe, Daniel and the Younghusbands could team up in conducting a football clinic someday.
Speaking of the Younghusbands and the Azkals, their big match against Mongolia is happening tonight, 7:00 PM, at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.
Let's all cheer for them!!! Studio 23 and Balls HD channel via Sky Cable will have a live telecast of the Philippines Vs Mongolia, which is a qualifying playoff round for the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup.
