Miss World Organization Chairman and CEO Julia Morley was here in Manila, Philippines last Tuesday, January 25, 2011.
Morley was here to officially award the local franchise of Miss World pageant to beauty and wellness guru Cory Quirino, who will then head
the national search for the Philippine representative to the Miss World pageant.
The awarding of franchise was held at Shangri-la Makati and also with Morley were Miss World 2010 Alexandria Mills from the USA and 1st
Runner Up Emma Wareus from Botswana.
The Miss World Philippines 2011 pageant will be held this August 23 and the winner will represent the country in the Miss World 2011
pageant happening last quarter of this year.
There are speculations that Philippines might host the Miss World 2011 pageant, but there was no mention about it during the event last Tuesday.
With Miss World having new franchise holder in the Philippines and
also Morley's visit to the country, let's hope that Philippines will
perform better in Miss World pageant and finally snatch the elusive title.
Under previous franchise holder, the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc, the country hasn't landed in the semis of Miss World pageant for 5 straight years starting in 2006.
