Katrina, this time we’re really sure you are famous, even superstar material. How does that sit with you?
Hindi—hindi pa rin ako sikat, hindi ko siya nararamdaman. Although I will say na malaki ang naitulong sa akin ng FHM, pati ang soap operas dahil hindi ako nawawala pero, ewan ko..siguro…hindi ko alam. Pero kapag nagsho-show ako masaya naman akong maraming nakakikilala sa akin.
Going back to that very first calendar shoot you did with us two years ago—did you really think it would do you any good baring yourself like that?
The people from GMA Artist Center were telling me that you guys had really wanted me so bad. That made me very happy. I remember they showed me FHM pictures of Assunta De Rossi and asked, “Kaya mo ba ‘to?” I told them I could only wear two-piece pero beyond that hindi pa. I don’t even remember now kung ready na ba ako o hindi. Basta masaya akong gusto ninyo ako. Kasi ganon ako—kapag nagsho-show ako kahit isang kanta lang, kapag naramdaman kong gusto ako ng mga tao kakanta ako kahit ilan pa ang gusto nila.
Now we all know how that turned out, in particular making it all to the top spot of FHM’s 100 Sexiest List twice. It can’t be any more beautiful than that, can it?
Yan ang sobrang hindi ako makapaniwala! Oo, masaya ako, but I remember when I was walking down the catwalk at the 100 Sexiest Event hindi ko naiisip na ako ang pinaka-sexy at ang ganda-ganda ko!
Well, one million votes can’t be a joke. Are you still the reluctant star—fame or no fame, it doesn’t matter—we read you to be when you were just slogging it out in Starstruck 1?
Yes, ganon pa rin ako hanggang ngayon, nagkataon lang na marami akong projects and shows. I’ve always been just thankful with what I have, ine-enjoy ko lang. Hindi ako naghahanap ng wala ako. What really gets me going in this business is the support of the people who really like me.
