World Cup star Paul, the Psychic Octopus dies

Paul, the psychic octopus has died today, October 26, in his aquarium in Germany.

The manager of Oberhausen Sea Life Centre which housed Paul The Octopus has told Daily Mail Online that the psychic octopus was found dead this early morning. Cause of death is unknown but the manager believes that he had a natural death.

Paul The Octopus only lived for more than 2 years and for an octopus, they say, it's already a normal lifespan.

People from the Sea Life Centre are going to bury Paul within their grounds and a memorial shrine is being planned for him, Daily Mail reports.

For the football fans, Paul was the real star during the World Cup 2010 last July when he correctly predicted all of Germany's matches including its defeat to Spain in the semi-finals.

If you remember, Germans wanted Paul to die that time after he chose Spain to win over his homeland. But the Spanish people have adored him since then and even after the finals when he predicted Spain to emerge as champion over the Netherlands.

As it turned out, it was already Paul's last prediction and the next World Cup definitely won't be as exciting as the recent World Cup.

World Cup 3rd Place Play Off Ger vs Uru: Germany wins

Germany (Alemania) has claimed the third (3rd) place of FIFA World Cup 2010 tournament, after it beat Urugay during the 3rd place play off yesterday, July 10th.

The final scores were 3-2 and named Man of the Match was Thomas Mueller from Germany.

It's the 2nd successive 3rd placement for Germany. In FIFA 2006, they also placed 3rd. All in all, they won that place 4 times already.

The German victory also elevated Paul The Octopus' status once more. The psychic octopus from Germany predicted last Friday that his
country will beat Uruguay and it did happen.

Paul's score is now 7 out 7, a perfect record. For tonight, Paul has picked Spain as the World Cup 2010 Champion.

Introducing Pauline the Octopus | Netherland's Psychic Octopus predicts a Dutch victory

Attention Paul and Mani, someone's challenging you.

Riding on the instant popularity of Paul The Octopus, Netherlands has its own Psychic Octopus and it's a girl.

So she has been named Pauline, obviously derived from Germany's Paul The Octopus.

According to the reports from Times Live (South Africa) and Associated Foreign Press (AFP), Pauline The Octopus has made a hometown decision, meaning it predicted a Dutch victory tomorrow, July 11.

Watch a Youtube video of Pauline:

It's opposed to Paul's prediction that Spain will win but it sided with Mani The Parakeet who also chose the Netherlands.

That just means there are two psychic animals rooting for the Netherlands and only one for Spain.

Spain vs Netherlands: Paul The Psychic Octopus Finals Prediction

It's now in the worldwide news that Germany's Paul, the Psychic Octopus, has predicted Spain to win over the Netherlands in the FIFA World Cup 2010.

Paul made the predictions just an hour ago and it was shown live on German National TV.

It was also televised live in Spain.

For sure, Paul's prediction adds confidence to Team Spain who's playing in the World Cup finals for the first time. But of course, it adds pressure to the Netherlands to play their best on Sunday and prove Paul wrong.

Before Paul predicted Spain's victory over the Netherlands, he already picked between Germany and Uruguay as to who will win in their match for the 3rd place this Saturday.

Paul predicted Germany to win over Uruguay, but is it enough to please the German soccer fans who are hating him a lot?

But the Spanish fans are loving him a lot especially after now that Spain is Paul's choice to win World Cup 2010.

An article at Times Live (South Africa) says that Spanish Minister Miguel Sebastian is interested in transfering Pulpo Paul to Spain to protect him.

Psychic Paul's latest prediction is in contrary to Mani The Parakeet, who predicted Netherlands to win over Spain.

Two things are sure now: one of them will suffer for a wrong prediction while the other will continue to enjoy celebrity status.

Paul The Octopus rumored dead

Just like any other celebrities, Paul, the famous Octopus in Germany, is now being rumored as dead.

Oh well, no news could confirm that he has died, but Paul has actually been receiving death threats after he predicted Spain to emerge as winner in its semifinal match with Germany and much more now that Germany has exited in the World Cup 2010.

Some people from Germany have been hating him a lot, and wants to kill him, put in a pan and then fry.

Even before the Germans want Paul to vanish, the Argentine people already wanted to make him into a "paella" and eat him after he predicted Argentina losing to Germany during the World Cup 2010 Quarter Finals.

If Germans and the Argentins hate Paul, the Spanish people love him for his predictions.

Proof to that is how "Pulpo Paul" is dominating Trending Topics on Twitter. "Pulpo" is a Spanish term for Octopus and obviously, people from Spain have been talking about him and he's currently on top of the Top 10 Trends on the site.

Paul The Octopus now a "Football Superstar" | Germans want him fried

After the Spaniards succeeded against Germans in last night's FIFA World Cup 2010 semi-finals, Paul The Psychic Octopus who predicted Spain to win over his home country Germany is now facing threats from some angry German fans.

Kawawa naman!

During the match last night, some German fans chanted a song against Paul the Octopus out of their disappointment that he chose Spain over Germany.

And their anger got even worse when Spain indeed won, with the score 1-0, causing Germany to lose a chance of reaching this year's World Cup championship.

Now some of them wants Paul to be fried and turn into a "calamares".

Wow, that's delicious!

On Facebook, there's a lot of pages hating Paul and want to eat him.

We can't blame them to feel that way, but can't they just be proud of Paul The Octopus?

With his 100% accuracy, Paul is now being regarded as a "Football Superstar" even if he's not a football player.

It's amazing that he was able to score 6 out of 6 and now his next job is to predict who between Germany and Uruguay will occupy the 3rd place as they face each other on Saturday, July 10.

Will Paul's owner/caretaker allow him to predict again after all those threats?

Let's also recognize Singapore's Mani The Parakeet for also predicting correctly the outcome of the match between Spain and Germany. He may have picked the wrong one between Uruguay and Netherlands, but Mani was actually the first to predict that Spain will win over Germany.

Pulpo Paul (Octopus) predicts España to win over Alemania

Mani The Parrot was proved wrong yesterday for predicting a Uruguay
victory against Holland, when actual results were 3-2 in favor of Holland.

It was a good fight though and Uruguay also played great. Probably, the Dutch team, pressured to win, doubled their efforts to disprove the bird's prediction.

For the record, Mani has 4 correct picks out of 5 and for today's match (España vs Alemania), it predicted a Spanish victory.

Just like Germany's very own Pulpo Paul or Paul the Octopus, who also
picked Spain over his home country.

The prediction was revealed live in Germany yesterday and the German
fans were reportedly disappointed to hear it.

Unlike Mani, Pulpo Paul has been predicting Germany's matches only. If
Mani uses cards, the 2-year-old octopus picks between 2 containers or boxes containing food.

Watch a video of it:

And for World Cup 2010, Pulpo Paul is so far 100% accurate on all of its predictions for Germany.

In Euro Cup 2008 though, Pulpo Paul was only 80% correct when it predicted Germany to win Spain in the finals. It turned out the other way around.

For today's World Cup 2010 semifinal match, both Mani The Parakeet and Paul the Octopus predicted España (Spain) to win over Alemania
(Germany). Both might be right or could also end up wrong.

These predictions actually excite me a lot. I might ask my pet dog to make predictions too by simply barking! Try it lol.
