Shamcey Supsup tries a new look

Shamcey Supsup sports a new look (with a wig) in her official photoshoot as Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2011, as part of her preparations for the upcoming Miss Universe 2011 pageant where she will be representing the Philippines.

Shamcey Supsup will try to snatch a 3rd Miss Universe crown for the Philippines. (See her chances HERE).

The Miss Universe 2011 pageant will kick off exactly a month from now, that's on August 21 as over 80 candidates arrive in São Paulo, Brazil. The finals night is slated on September 12, 2011.

Rich Asuncion, FHM Philippines' May 2011 cover girl

Rich Asuncion is FHM Philippines' May 2011 cover girl, her first FHM cover, and also her first ever magazine cover.

A homegrown Kapuso artist, Rich finished 1st Princess on GMA talent search "StarStruck 4: The Next Level" and later competed in the Binibining Pilipinas 2011 pageant where she ended up as 1st Runner Up.

Rich will next be seen on TV in the upcoming GMA afternoon soap "Sisid" which will premiere this May replacing "Alakdana".

Lara Quigaman 's Cinco gown, precious "underwear flash" become controversial

Precious Lara Quigaman's red striking gown during the Binibining Pilipinas 2011 pageant night held last week has become a controversial issue (a pageant scandal) and is still being talked about up to now because of the gown's unique design (the slit) and the so-called "underwear flash".

People are debating if it was appropriate or inappropriate.

According to those who believe it's just appropriate, they see nothing wrong with Precious Lara Quigaman's "underwear flash" because the undergarment, which was reportedly made of precious gems, was part of the gown's design.

But for those who deemed it inappropriate, the fact that Precious Lara was a former Binibining Pilipinas titlist and also an ex-Miss International already makes the gown inappropriate for her. According to them, Precious Lara should not wear such kind of outfit as she is supposed to set a good example to the new beauty queens.

The gown was designed by Michael Cinco, who's currently making waves as couture designer on America's Next Top Model Cycle 16.

Shamcey Supsup and PNoy enjoy lunch together in GenSan

Shamcey Supsup and Pres. Noynoy Aquino met in General Santos City yesterday, April 14, 2011, during the latter's visit there for the 23rd National Convention of the Prosecutors League of the Philippines.

Supsup, who arrived a day ahead of Pnoy, welcomed the President and had lunch together at the East Asia Royale Hotel in GenSan.

And reportedly, PNoy, who's single and searching, was in great awe of Shamcey's beauty.

As you can see in Pnoy's face, it's kinda obvious that he likes Shamcey haha. Look at his smile. It's a smile of someone who feels "kilig" and his left hand was like he was very much in "gigil" with the beautiful Shamcey Supsup.

Supsup Noynoy? Bagay!!!

When they get married, she will be using this name: Shamcey Supsup-Aquino. Sounds so good right?

Shamcey Supsup: What's with her name?

Shamcey Supsup who won as Binibining Pilipinas - Universe 2011 last Sunday is being talked about, not only because she won the title and she was an Architechture Board Exam topnotcher, but because of her unique-sounding name.

I'm already excited how her name will be pronounced when she competes in Miss Universe 2011 this September.

A lot of people on Twitter find her name cute, among them is Kapuso actress Maxene Magalona.

But for some people, such as stage actor Gabe Mercado, it's not the sound of the name, but the meaning of her surname is the one interesting for them.

Yeah sleeplessinkl is right. "Supsup" is a Visayan term for "to absorb" or "to suck it off", as defined by Urbandictionary.com. In Tagalog, "sipsip" or "sipsipin".

For sure, Shamcey knows that coz she's from GenSan.

In the Bicol Region, especially in Rinconada area (Venus Raj's hometown is part of it), we also use the term "supsup" to describe a baby's thumbsucking hobby, while we drink softdrinks through a straw, when eating "balut", also when we eat "susong bukid" (an edible freshwater snails) and of course, when doing a (you know)...nevermind!

Miss Universe owner Donald Trump for sure will like Shamcey (especially if he knows the meaning of her surname).

Shamcey Supsup feels no pressure for Miss Universe 2011 pageant

Shamcey Supsup, the newly-crowned Binibinining Pilipinas-Universe 2011, is not pressured at all in representing the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2011 pageant which will be held 5 months from now in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Shamcey Supsup won the coveted title Sunday night and it was an added pressure to her that she succeeded Maria Venus Raj who, as we all know, ended the Philippines' 10-year-drought in the Miss Universe pageant when she entered the semis of Miss U 2010 and even placed 4th Runner Up.

And now, Shamcey is being pressured to continue what Venus has started in the pageant.

But the beauty-and-brain from General Santos City who's a Magna Cum Laude graduate from UP said during a press interview after the Coronation Night that she's feeling no pressure to match Venus' impressive performance in Miss Universe last year.

"I'm not pressured at all kasi I believe na...I was here for a reason and whatever my destiny will be (there), I'll just do my best, I'm just gonna give it my all,” Shamcey told the press, as reported on ABS-CBN's Bandila last night.

Shamcey is positive that it will be a fruitful year for the Philippines in Miss Universe 2011. "I'm really not expecting this, so let's just see what's in store for me," Shamcey tells showbiz news program SNN. "So I hope na it's going to be a fruitful year for Binibining Pilipinas. To all my fans, my friends, my family, my supporters, thank you very much. You have helped me to win this crown. I hope you will always be with me in my journey."

The Q & A Portion on last night's Binibining Pilipinas 2011 Coronation Night (Finals) played an important part in determining who should be crowned the new Binibining Pilipinas Universe, Binibining Pilipinas International and Binibining Pilipinas Tourism 2011 titleholders.

Shamcey Supsup, Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2011

Shamcey Supsup was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2011 and succeeded last year's winner Maria Venus Raj during the pageant's finals last night in Araneta.

As the new Binibining Pilipinas Universe titleholder, Shamcey Supsup will represent the Philippines in Miss Universe 2011 to be held in São Paulo, Brazil this September and hopes to duplicate what Venus achieved in the Miss Universe 2010 pageant.

Shamcey is 24 years old from General Santos City and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Architecture from UP Diliman.

She was also the topnotcher, as in 1st placer, during the Architecture Board Exam in June 2010.

Shamcey definitely got the 3 Bs: Beauty, Body and Brain.

Pageant fans not only in the Philippines but also those from other countries have high hopes that she will do well in Miss Universe 2011.

Judge: With what worthy cause do you identify yourself and why?

Shamcey: "I think one worthy cause I can identify myself is valuing education coz I believe that education is something that cannot be taken away from you. You can have money, you can have fame, but in the end they can be taken away from you. But education will always be there to help you in your life. Thank you."

Dianne Necio, Binibining Pilipinas International 2011

Bicolana beauty Dianne Elaine Necio has finally won a Binibining Pilipinas title.

Last night, Dianne Necio won as Binibining Pilipinas-International 2011, a year after she finished 1st Runner Up during the Binibining Pilipinas 2010 pageant.

If last year she represented Iriga City, Dianne represented Polangui, Albay this year and she won.

Dianne stands 5'5 1/2" and turned 19 just last month.

A pageant veteran, she has joined 4 pageants in Bicol before joinining Binibining Pilipinas. She was Miss Tabak 2009, Miss Iriga 2009, 1st Runner Up in Miss Bicolandia 2009 and 2nd Runner Up to the late Melody Gershbach in the 2009 Mutya ng Magayon pageant.

Another pride of Bicol (Philippines' beauty capital), Dianne has successfully continued the winning streak of Bicolana beauties in Binibining Pilipinas which started when Melody won as Binibining Pilipinas International in 2009 and then Venus Raj as Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2010.

(Former "Binibini" titlists Miriam Quiambao and Precious Lara Quigaman, who happen to be Bicolanas too and were among the hosts last night, probably brought some luck to Dianne.)

Bicolana titlists usually fare well in international pageants. Melody, Venus, Miriam and Precious all entered the semis (Precious even won title) when they competed internationally. Dianne definitely should also achieve that when she competes in China this October for the Miss International 2011 pageant.

Dianne is also the girlfriend of PBB Teen Clash 2010 ex-housemate and "Mutya" actor Jovic Susim.

Judge: What is your biggest accomplishment to date? And what is your biggest goal in the next 12 months?

Dianne: "My greatest achievement was winning last year in Binibining Pilipinas as 1st Runner Up and my goal is to win in this competition one of the crowns and hopefully bring home the crown from international pageant. Thank you."

Isabella Manjon, Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2011

Isabella Manjon from Pasig City was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Tourism 2011, one of the three major titles of the pageant.

The title she won was a replacement for the Binibinining Pilipinas - World (Miss Philippines World) title, which starting this year is no longer under the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc.
Isabella Angela Manjon is 23 years old and stands 5'7".

A Fil-Spanish beauty, Isabella is a registered nurse and a part-time commercial model.

She graduated from the University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay (UERM) and passed the Nursing Board Exam in July 2010.

It was her first time to join a beauty pageant.

Judge: Is a father capable of carrying out the duties of a mother, and vice versa?

Isabella: "For me I believe that a man can also do the job of a woman. I believe that God made us all equally and if we are all equal, we could also do anything with God's grace. Thank you!"

Many people didn't like the order of the announcement. As you can see, the Top 15 were announced based on their ordinal numbers and not in random. (If I were Numbers 1 to 5, I should have walked out already in the middle of the announcement.)

Mykiru correctly predicted only 9 of the Top 15 semi-finalists.

But the Top 15 results are generally favorable as all of them were included in Mykiru's Top 25, except for one. Yeah, there's a surprising inclusion of one candidate. She's only 29th on my list. But it's okay, not a major disappointment.

If you notice, three former ABS-CBN talents (Kapamilya Deal Or No Deal 26k member Chloe McCully, PBB Celebrity Edition 2 ex-housemate Zara Aldana and ABS-CBN Dagupan's Ara Hanesh) all failed to enter the semis.

Shamcey Supsup wins most awards during the Binibining Pilipinas 2011 finals

Big favorite Shamcey Supsup won most of the special awards during the finals of Binibining Pilipinas 2011 held Sunday night, April 10, at the Araneta Coliseum.

Shamcey Supsup won Best in Talent, Miss PAL and Miss Cream Silk.

She failed though to bag the two major awards: the Best in Swimsuit award which went to Queenie Rehman and the Best in Long Gown award, which was won by Luzelle Felipe.

But she won the highest prize of the night, the Binibining Pilipinas - Universe 2011 title.

Bb. Pilipinas 2011 candidate #40 Monique Manuel is leading in the People's Choice voting

Candidate #40 Monique Manuel (photo) has a wide lead so far in the ongoing People's Choice voting for the Face of Binibining Pilipinas 2011.

Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. has released a partial tally of the text votes on its official Facebook Page earlier this afternoon and it shows that Candidate #40 is the one leading with 25.32% while in a very very far 2nd is Candidate #10 Hazelyn Santos with only 7.37%.

Binibining Pilipinas 2011 videos from the annual Parade of Beauties

The 40 Binibining Pilipinas 2011 candidates rode in "sports car" floats yesterday, April 3, 2011, at the Araneta Center for the annual Parade of Beauties.

Last year's Binibining Pilipinas titlists Maria Venus Raj, Krista Kleiner and Czarina Gatbonton also participated in the event.

Wearing only two-piece swimsuits and headdresses, the 2011 Binibining Pilipinas beauties waved to the crowd from their Miata floats which started at the Balay Expo and ended at the Gateway Pavillion.
