What to expect on this year's finals?

Just like last year, the pageant will be a fast-paced fashion show-style pageant.

During the semi-final round, the candidates will walk the ramp, wearing the creations of Jeffrey Rogador (Casual, Street Fashion Wear), Jerome Lorico (Casual, Street Fashion), Ricky Abad (Swimwear) and Barge Ramos (Barong Tagalog).

Jeans will be provided by Freego while T-shirts are from Philosophy Men and Graffi Tee.

The contestants will be trimmed down to 8 finalists and the eight move on to the Q&A portion.

From there, we shall have a new Mister International Philippines and two runners up.

Mister International Philippines 2009 will receive a cash prize of P50,000 and will represent the country in the Mister International 2009 pageant on December 19 in Taichung, Taiwan.

1st Runner Up will receive P20,000 and Second Runner Up has P10,000.

The prizes are somehow bigger than last year when the winner had only P20,000 while 1st Runner Up received P10,000 and 2nd Runner Up had P5,000.

And for the first time, there will be a special award to be handed out on this year's pageant.

The Mister International Philippines 2009 People's Choice, determined via an online poll conducted here on Mykiru, will also receive a sash and a cash prize.

The said official poll will be closed 5 PM today.

Ten hours before the finals, Candidate #1 Kerwin Caballero (photo) has backed out because he has a fever.

He becomes the second candidate to withdraw from this year's competition.

Last Monday, Candidate #16 Francis Soo also backed out because his grandma in Davao has died. He was immediately replaced by Michael Manansala.

No replacement for Caballero has been announced due to lack of time.

The number of candidates competing for the Mister International Philippines 2009 title is down to 15, the same number as last year.
