Educator Carol Gementiza is officially the first cast-off on Survivor Philippines Palau after she failed during her face-off with transsexual Justine Ferrer shown last Monday.
But her exit is not that heartbreaking because she is actually one of the least popular castaways in the show.
On Mykiru's Popularity Poll, which started on August 8 and still ongoing, Ma'am Carol only has 2% of the total votes, just ahead of two other castaways.
Leading the poll (unsurprisingly) are two of the best-looking and best-bodied male castaways, Marvin Kiefer and Suzuki Sadatsugu, with both having 13% of votes.
Since Survivor Philippines Palau is not a popularity contest, the poll actually won't determine who will emerge as the sole survivor of the season, but only serves as a barometer (somehow) of who among the 16 castaways got the most followers.
Ma'am Carol was interviewed by host Paolo Bediones on Unang Hirit earlier and she wanted Bicolana castaway Echo Caceres to emerge as winner. We'll see.
Here's the partial results of Mykiru's Poll as of September 1, 2009:
Marvin Kiefer 13%
Suzuki Sadatsugu 13%
Shaun Rodriguez 11%
Jef Gaitan 11%
Amanda Coolley Van Cooll 10%
Vlad Nesas 10%
Louie Ang 8%
Mika Batchelor 4%
Cris Bolado 4%
Echo Caceres 4%
Justine Ferrer 3%
Troy Perez 3%
Carol Gementiza 2%
Tara Macias 2%
Maya Segovia 1%
Charles Fernandez 1%
