Host country Thailand emerged as champion in the 24th SEA Games with 183 gold, 123 silver and 103 bronze medals, as officially announced during the closing ceremony Saturday, December 15, 2007.
Vietnam held the 2nd spot during the first days but only to settle officially in 3rd place behind Malaysia on the last days of the competition.
Philippines ended up in shy 6th place, but the country has the 2nd highest number of silver and bronze medals. Over-all, it collected a total of 228 medals, also the 2nd highest after those of Thailand.
